Jordan Matthew Cox is a composer, arranger, and orchestrator whose work spans from the concert hall to the silver screen.
As an orchestrator and copyist he has worked on over 400 television episodes, most recently Mickey Mouse, Animaniacs, Locke and Key, Handmaid’s Tale, Reasonable Doubt, Ahsoka and Cross; and over 100 feature films, including Alita: Battle Angel, Space Jam: A New Legacy, King Richard, The Lost City, Despicable Me 4, The Color Purple, Rebel Moon and Wicked. He has also collaborated on numerous short films, including the Oscar winning short: The Elephant Whisperers and some of the highest grossing video games, such as Bioshok, God of War, Spiderman 2 and the Destiny Saga. In addition, Cox has contributed to multiple Disney Parks attractions including Mickey’s Runaway Railway, Epcot’s “Harmonious” and Walt Disney World’s 50th celebration, and collaborated with composers such as Danny Elfman, Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL), Heitor Pereira, Michael Salvatori, Garry Schyman, Abel Korzeniowski, Pinar Toprak, Kris Bowers, Christopher Willis, Thomas Newman, John Powell, Dolly Parton and James Horner.
As a composer and arranger, Cox has composed over 50 concert works and has contributed arrangements to many artists including Gwen Stefani, Natalie Cromwell, Michael Cleveland and Ariana Grande.
He has also written music for numerous television shows including, Disney’s Club Penguin, Tasty Tales of the Food Truckers, FriendZSpace, Kung Fu Wa and Marvel’s It’s Jeff.
After studying composition at the University of Northwestern with Leonard Danek, Cox moved to Los Angeles to study in the prestigious Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program at the University of Southern California, where he also completed a Master’s Degree in Composition. While there, he studied with Eric Schmidt, Jack Smalley, Garry Schyman, Christopher Young and Bruce Broughton.
